Hopefully the start of an ongoing series, I introduce Casual Sundays, where I am to be featuring the less ‘smarter’ pieces of my wardrobe.
What I really wanted to praise in this post however is this grey jumper I picked up from Cheap Monday when I was shopping at a Carnaby Street event. Sadly it has stretched a bit from over-wear, but I quite like the baggy feeling it has on the shoulders, and how wide it is around the neck.
I’ve worn it with some black jeans also from Cheap Monday, and some black monk shoes to add to the black look. I would have preferred some boots or trainers, but I was left to the accessibility of my wardrobe (was visiting a friend) and have had to make due. The all black look can work without seeming like a 90’s emo kid (which I was for a bit), and provides a chic but laid back look with a comfy feel. I’m not going to lie, was a tad hung over in these photos so this was exactly what I needed.
I did have a black coat on as well, broken up with the grey scarf again - there is such a thing as too much black of course! I was wearing a turquoise vest (which incidentally matched my socks), which I’ve pulled out from under the jumper to break up the black. I’d also like to point out that if you’re skinny like me, I’d roll up sleeves a bit more or consider tucking the vest in, else baggy clothes will drown you.
Hope you’ve enjoyed the double posting today!
